Bruce Willis is in talks to star in 'Captive'.

The 58-year-old actor is in negotiations to take on the leading role in the indie thriller after Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was attached to the part in 2011, pulled out last year, according to Variety.com.

The story follows an American real estate magnate, living in Brazil, who is kidnapped and held as a prisoner at a cell in a hidden landfill.

Simon Brand is set to direct the movie, alongside Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert, Randall Emmett, George Furla, Marina Bespalov and Michael London, who will produce.

Michael will also pen the script for the thriller.

Meanwhile, Willis will next be seen in 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For', the sequel to 2005's dark thriller, where he will reprise his role as John Hartigan, opposite Jessica Alba, who will play Nancy Callahan.

The movie was due to be released on October 4, 2013, but was pushed back until summer 2014.

However, producers remained tight-lipped on their reasoning for the delay.

Filming for 'Captive' is set to kick off in March.
