The Zero Dark Thirty beauty and her partner of three years, Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, bought the four-bedroom pad, which is located opposite Manhattan's fabled Carnegie Hall concert venue, through the private Tesoro Trust for $5.1 million (£3.2 million), according to the New York Post.

Bernstein called the Osborne Apartments building home for more than a decade and reportedly penned the songs for hit musical West Side Story there with Stephen Sondheim.

The property was sold to Chastain and de Preposulo by Tony Award-winning composer Adam Guettel, the grandson of Broadway icon Richard Rodgers.

Ironically, Guettel's mother, Mary Rodgers Guettel, served as chairman of The Juilliard School while Chastain was a student at the prestigious Manhattan performing arts facility.
