Jessica Chastain has been cast in 'The Secret Scripture'.

The 36-year-old actress has joined the adaptation of Sebastian Barry's 2008 novel alongside Vanessa Redgrave, where they'll play the younger and older version Roseanne McNulty, according to IFTN.

The story follows a 100-year-old woman, who resides in the Roscommon Regional Mental Hospital, as she sits down to pen an autobiography before stashing it away under her floorboards, undecided whether she wants people to find it and read her story.

Chastain will next be seen in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film 'Interstellar', which tells the true story of a man who is gunned down during escalating violence in Guatemala.

However, he leaves behind a videotape after his death implicating the president and the First Lady. But a special prosecutor searches for the truth behind the murder.

Meanwhile, Redgrave was most recently seen in Lee Daniels' 'The Butler', where she played Annabeth Westfall, an elderly cotton farm caretaker, who makes Cecil [Forest Whitaker] a house servant following the death of his father.

Shooting for 'The Secret Scripture' will kick off next year in Sligo and Wicklow in Ireland.
