Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson have named their little girl Maxwell Drew Johnson. The couple posted a statement on Jessica's website saying "Eric and I are elated to announce the birth of our baby Maxwell Drew Johnson 9 lbs. 13 oz. We are so grateful for all of the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!"
The baby girl has taken her middle name from Jessica's mother, Tina Simpson whose maiden name is Drew. A source told US Weekly that "mother and baby are doing just fine." Jessica first announced the news of her pregnancy last Halloween when she tweeted a picture of herself in a mummy costume, accompanied by a message saying "It's true! I am going to be a mummy!" In an interview with US Weekly about her impending motherhood, Jessica said "Eric and I love each other so much, and knowing that I love this baby inside of me is so amazing--i love it so much and I haven't even met them yet. I can't imagine how much love we'll have for it once it finally comes!"
Jessica and Eric got engaged in November 2010, after just six months of dating. They've yet to set a wedding date, as they wanted to wait for the baby's arrival first, though Simpson has previously said that Eric feels like he's her husband already.
