One of Jimi Hendrix's final interviews has been animated for a new web series.

The audio clip of journalist Keith Altham's chat, which he recorded a week before Hendrix's death in 1970, has been given the cartoon treatment for the Blank On Blank series.

During the interview, the guitar great opens up about his finances, and his penchant for smashing up his equipment.

The Purple Haze hitmaker also muses on his future and tells Altham he fears music is too heavy, explaining, "There's too many heavy songs out nowadays - music is getting too heavy, almost to the state of unbearable. I have this one little saying, 'When things get too heavy just call me helium - the lightest known gas to man.'"
