Rockers Joan Jett and Cherie Currie are fighting to halt the release of a tribute album to their old band The Runaways.
The Cherry Bomb hitmakers filed suit in New York on Thursday (09Jun11) against bosses at Main Man Records, who specialise in compilation CDs - to prevent them from releasing Take It or Leave It: A Tribute to the Queens of Noise.
The tribute album is set to go on sale on 28 June (11), but lawyers for Jett and Currie claim the label's executives have no right to use their names to promote the album without their permission.
The Runaways are back in vogue thanks in part to a 2010 biopic, starring Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning.
