Nick Jonas thinks being a sex symbol is ''funny''.
The former Jonas Brothers star has revealed that while he works hard on his appearance for the sake of his acting and music careers, he tries not to take comments about his good looks too seriously.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''It's funny. I mean, I don't really think of it that way myself. I think if you call yourself that it's immediately un-sexy. So I kind of just take the approach of staying in my lane and not thinking about it too much.''
The 22-year-old star - who is dating former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo - admits his heartthrob status means he gets a lot of attention from female fans but he insists he's always tried to behave appropriately.
He shared: ''I can say that when you're a young man in the public eye that is an element of it, being conscientious of temptation around you, but it's just about how you approach it and what your standards are and what you're trying to accomplish and how that affects you.''
The 'Chains' singer and his brothers Joe and Kevin decided to quit their band in 2013 and Nick has confessed he's thankful his fans have stood by him as he's launched his solo career.
He added: ''I don't mind having people really pay attention and care because I feel like it shows that the hard work I'm putting in is paying off and people are interested and that's an amazing thing.
''The fans have changed a lot, from the first couple of years of my career to now it's been incredible to watch it grow and see a whole new group of fans. There are the die-hards that were there from the beginning and then a lot of new fans and people that are really giving the music a chance.''
