Nineties rockers the Inspiral Carpets are to release their first album in 20 years with a little help from poet John Cooper Clarke.

The group's first album of new material since 1994's Devil Hopping will feature Cooper Clarke's Let You Down, which has been released online.

Spitfire, the band's first single from the album, will be released in August (14).

The Inspiral Carpets, who played the Isle of Wight Festival in the U.K. over the weekend (13-15Jun14), had a string of British hits in the early 1990s, but they're perhaps most famous for including Noel Gallagher as part of their road crew before he became a member of Oasis.
