Cusack Ditched Class To Star In First Film
John Cusack turned his back on school to pursue an acting career - because he was convinced he knew everything. As a precocious teen actor, Cusack swapped the real classroom for a fictional one to shoot 1983 film Class, and abandoned school for good when he landed a role in John Hughes' movie Sixteen Candles the following year (84). He says, "I don't remember being there that much... I didn't really go junior or senior year. At the time I thought that was pretty clever."
