John Lennon's digital back catalogue will not be made available to iTunes users due to a legal wrangle between THE Beatles' management company Apple Corps and technology giant Apple.

Apple Corps contends that Apple's iTunes and iPod brands are in breach of a trademark agreement made by the two companies in 1981 over their company names.

And Lennon's widow Yoko Ono and his record label EMI have subsequently barred iTunes from distributing greatest hits album WORKING CLASS HERO and his back catalogue, which will be available from 5 December (05).

A spokesperson for EMI, which owns the Parlophone and Capitol record labels which released Lennon's music in the UK and US respectively, says, "This is an ongoing dispute."
