John Lennon's son Julian insists he was joking when he recently accused his late dad's Beatles bandmate Sir Paul McCartney of "snubbing" him.
Singer/songwriter Julian took to his Facebook.com page last month (Oct11) to apparently blast MCCartney for not inviting him to his recent wedding to American heiress Nancy Shevell and ignoring him at a reception in New York.
But he has now posted an update on the social networking website to tell fans his comments were a light-hearted joke which snowballed out of control.
He writes, "Seems many have taken my comment from the other week a little too far... It was truly written, hand on heart, with a whimsical heart... The situation was laughable, more than anything... Wasn't whining... just stating the facts... Obviously people misplace & mistake my sense of humour & character... C'est La Vie."
Julian is Lennon's son from his first marriage to Cynthia Powell.
