LATEST: John Lennon fans are outraged at the sale of an album signed by the former BEATLE for his assassin, only hours before his death.
Lennon signed the DOUBLE FANTASY record for Mark Chapman just five hours before he was shot dead in December 1980.
Chapman then hid the album behind a planter at the entrance to the Dakota apartment building in New York, where Lennon was murdered, and was discovered after the tragic incident.
The album is being offered for $500,000 (GBP305,000) and has Chapman's digitally enhanced fingerprints on the cover.
HOWARD COHEN, owner of London's Beatles shop, says, "I think it's disgraceful. That anyone would want to own this album is beyond sickness."30/11/2003 13:58
