Theatre producers are looking for a new John Lennon in America after announcing they're planning to take the late BEATLE's story to Broadway, New York.

The extravaganza about the life of the former Beatle will track his working class roots in Liverpool to his assassination in New York.

The musical, called simply Lennon, won't feature any Beatles songs as they're owned by Michael Jackson and Sony. Instead, the musicals tunes will be those written by the superstar after he left the FAB FOUR.

The search has started for an actor to play the lead role. Lennon will open at San Francisco's CURRAN THEATER on 1 February (05) and hit Broadway a week later.
