John Moore is set to direct Bruce Willis in 'Die Hard 5'.

The 'Max Payne' filmmaker has been chosen by 20th Century Fox and Bruce to helm the fifth film in the franchise, which will shoot in Russia.

It is planned he will make the project before he becomes involved in the sequel for 'Red' - which also starred Bruce alongside Dame Helen Mirren.

'Die Hard 5' has been on the hunt for a director since Noam Murro dropped out after winning the job working on '300: Battle of Aremisia'.

Joe Cornish, Nicolas Winding Refn and Justin Lin were all considered before John was set on, Deadline.com reports.

Fox is reportedly hoping to match the success of the last film 'Live Free or Die Hard' which made $384 million on a budget of around $100 million.

Bruce, 56, has a huge number of films set to come out in the next two years, including 'Lay the Favorite' with Catherine Zeta-Jones, 'G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation', which is currently filming and the sequel to 'The Expendables'.
