The midnight blue gown Diana, Princess Of Wales wore when she danced with John Travolta in 1985 is heading back to the auction block.

The late British royal donned the stunning velvet Victor Edelstein dress to attend a state dinner hosted by then-U.S. President Ronald Reagan and his wife Nancy at the White House in Washington, D.C. and famously hit the dancefloor with fellow guest Travolta.

The designer outfit is one of 10 Diana gowns going under the hammer at a London auction, titled Fit for a Princess: Important dresses formerly in the collection of Diana, Princess of Wales, next month (Mar13).

Among the other outfits are gowns by Zandra Rhodes, Catherine Walker and Bruce Oldfield, some of which had been modelled by the tragic princess for her favourite photographer, Mario Testino. The gowns had initially been sold at a charity auction in New York in June, 1997, two months before her death in Paris, France (Aug97).

Officials at Kerry Taylor Auctions tell the Afp the entire lot is believed to be worth at least $960,000 (£600,000).
