Amber Heard, the 24-year-old American actress and star of the hit movie 'Zombieland', walked down the red carpet with her long-time girlfriend TASYA VAN REE on Friday (3rd December 2010) after publically announcing that she is gay, reports the UK's Daily Mail. The actress posed with her photographer girlfriend and spoke to reporters about her decision to come out.
Heard, who was attending the GLAAD 25th anniversary bash in Los Angeles, said, "I think when I became aware of my role in the media, I had to ask myself an important question, 'am I part of the problem? Injustice can never be stood for. It always must be fought against and I just was sick of it being a problem". The actress then spoke about how she couldn't hide her sexuality any longer, adding, "I personally think that if you deny something or if you hide something, you're inadvertently admitting it's wrong".
The actress recently finished filming her biggest film to date, 'The Rum Diary', with Johnny Depp. The movie is based on the autobiographical novel by gonzo-journalist Hunter S Thompson, and is due to hit cinemas in 2011.
