Johnny Depp falls ill after every film he makes - because he puts so much effort into creating his characters.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star never gets sick while he is working, but as soon as he finishes each job he comes down with a mystery ailment which keeps him in bed for weeks at a time.
And Depp is convinced he over-exerts himself while he is acting.
He says, "There is a period once you finish a guy - a character - when you're looking to go back to yourself and sometimes it can manifest itself in illness. After I made The Libertine, I was in bed for two weeks. When you're working, you don't get sick, then suddenly it hits you like a two-by-four."
