Johnny Depp showed his generous side by handing over a priceless poetry book from his collection to his The Rum Diary director Bruce Robinson as a gift.
Depp invited Robinson to stay at his home, where he showed off his collection of pricey paintings and rare book manuscripts.
After leaving the actor's mansion, Robinson was delighted to find that Depp had secretly placed a volume of French poetry in his suitcase for him to keep.
He says, "I don't know how Johnny gets everything done. With the books, it isn't just a first edition of T.S. Eliot, it's the manuscript.
"He showed me a first edition of Les Fleurs Du Mal inscribed by Baudelaire. I couldn't believe it. Then when I got home, I found Johnny had slipped it inside my suitcase."
