Keith Richards will return for the fifth 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.

The Rolling Stones guitarist is unsure when the next installment of the swashbuckling franchise will start filming but he knows he will again make an appearance as Captain Teague, the father of Johnny Depp's lead character Captain Jack Sparrow.

He said: ''So they say, you know, I've got the costume, and I'm waiting for the heads up, but apparently there is.

''I don't know if it'll be next year that we shoot it or whatever, but as I say, you know, I got the costume and the beard and the shirt.''

The 'Brown Sugar' rocker will know when he is required as soon as he hears from his friend and co-star Johnny.

He added to Absolute Radio: ''I'll wait for a call from Johnny.''

Keith previously appeared in the last two movies in the series, 'Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides'.

While Keith knows he is returning for the film, Penelope Cruz - who played Angelica Teach in the last installment - recently admitted she doesn't know if she'll be back.

She said: ''Have I heard anything? No, I haven't. I haven't read a script. I haven't heard anything. With Johnny and the director Rob Marshall, it's like anything. But I don't mean movies. I consider them my friends. And I really love them and respect them.''
