U.S. President Barack Obama has announced his intention to appoint Jon Bon Jovi to the White House Council on Community Solutions.
The It's My Life singer has handed out charity millions to communities all over America, through his Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation organisation, and now he is set to be rewarded with a top post.
As a member of the newly-formed council, the rocker will provide advice to the President on the best ways to "mobilise citizens, nonprofits, businesses and government to work more effectively together to solve specific community needs."
Of his council members, Obama says, "These impressive men and women have dedicated their lives and careers to civic engagement and social innovation. I commend them for their outstanding contributions to their communities, and I am confident that they will serve the American people well in their new roles on the White House Council for Community Solutions. I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead."
