Madonna refused Lindsay Lohan entry to a VIP party last week.

The 'Celebration' singer reportedly ordered her security team no to let 'Mean Girls' actress Lindsay into the VIP booth at an opening party for the Boom Boom Room nightclub at The Standard Hotel in New York .

Instead Madonna chose to party with her boyfriend Jesus Luz, 80s rocker Jon Bon Jovi, Jerry Seinfeld, Jude Law and Josh Hartnett.

It is believed Madonna was upset by the fact Lindsay was recently unveiled as 'artistic adviser' to fashion house Emanuel Ungaro, ahead of Madonna.

President of Emanuel Ungaro, Mounir Moufarrige, said he met five celebrities before picking Lindsay, including Madonna and Paris Hilton.

He said of Lindsay: "She knows clothes. She will be a travelling advertisement, and will bring something younger, more cool, with a different attitude to the brand."

Lindsay is expected to make her debut for the Emanuel Ungaro brand at Paris Fashion Week next week.
