Actor Jonah Hill and director Jay Roach have been dragged into an ongoing legal battle over Sacha Baron Cohen's BRUNO movie.
Palestinian grocer Ayman Abu Aita filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the British funnyman last year (09) after a caption in the controversial film described him as "Terrorist group leader, Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade."
Abu Aita alleged he was defamed when he was named as a mock-terrorist in the movie - as many viewers didn't get the joke.
He included David Letterman in the suit after the U.S. TV host aired the clip on his talk show, and now his legal team has added Hill and Roach - both co-producers on the comedy - to the complaint, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The lawsuit has been refiled at a court in Washington, D.C. just a month after the defendants, including entertainment companies NBC Universal and CBS, filed a motion to have the case dismissed.
In the amended legal papers Aita, who has family in Washington, D.C., alleges he has suffered "death threats; shame; loss of reputation... depression and anxiety... and fear for the well-being and safety of his wife, children, and his relatives" following his appearance in the 2009 movie.
