Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been handed one-month suspended sentence relating to an arrest in 2009.
The Match Point star was accused of striking a bar patron at France's Charles de Gaulle airport and allegedly insulted three police officers as he was being taken into custody in June, 2009.
On Wednesday (16Nov11), the actor was officially charged with drunk and disorderly conduct and told to pay a $1,348.70 (Gbp2,157.92) fine and stay out of trouble or else face time behind bars.
According to the Agence France-Presse, the actor, who did not appear in court for the sentencing, additionally compensated his victims in the case.
Meyers is developing a habit for causing problems in airports - he was arrested for drunk and disorderly conduct at the Dublin Airport in his native Ireland in 2007 but charges against him were dropped.
