Chris Martin says his children stop him from having a big ego.

The father-of-two - who is married to 39-year-old actress Gwyneth Paltrow - admitted that the diva demands of their Offspring help him realise he is not above carrying out normal tasks.

He confessed: ''We played Wembley Stadium and I was like, 'Wow, we are big rock stars'.

''But at six o'clock in the morning the kids were like, 'Get me some pancakes. And I was like, 'Oh, am I a rock star?' But that's what hopefully keeps your music real.''

The 37-year-old musician - who is currently on tour in the United States - added that seven-year-old Apple and five-year-old Moses are more important than his career.

He said: ''Just at the point where you would have got really big egos, we all have these little people who we are all responsible for and they keep us focused on what is really important in life.''

Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland added: ''If you ever feel like you are big-headed as a rock star, you come back and your children and family have a very keen knack for making you feel very small again.''
