Jordin Sparks and Jason Derulo love working out together.

The 23-year-old singer-and-actress famously lost 50 pounds over a two-and-a-half year period and has maintained her shapely figure by working out with her 'Ridin' Solo' singer boyfriend.

Speaking on the red carpet at the BET Awards 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday (30.06.13), she exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''I get on the Stairmaster for 15 minutes to raise my heart rate and it kicks my butt. It's tough but I love it. Then I follow that up with circuit training. Jason's been showing me some exercises too, I love working out with him.

''I do have cheat days where I eat food that I know is bad for me but then I just make sure to get back in the gym the next day.''

Jordin worked with Whitney Houston on her last movie 'Sparkle' before the singer died of accidental drowning caused by cardiac failure after taking cocaine in February 2012 and Jordin will always treasure the memories of working with Whitney.

She said: ''It was really incredible to work with Whitney Houston. I was so nervous the first day but she was so cool. As soon as she walked into the room and I was in her presence it was amazing. She was so special, there's no one else like her. There's only one voice like that.''

Winners on the night included Nicki Minaj, who picked up her fourth consecutive win for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist, while Chris Brown - who opened the show with Nicki - won the Fandemonium Award for the fourth year running.

Kendrick Lamar picked up two gongs, Best New Artist and Best Male Hip-Hop Artist, and Jamie Foxx took home the Best Actor prize.

Performers at the ceremony included Stevie Wonder, Robin Thicke, J. Cole, Mariah Carey, who sang her hit 'Beautiful' with Miguel, Ciara and R. Kelly.

The BET Awards 2013 - hosted by Chris Tucker - airs in the UK on Tuesday July 2 at 8pm on Sky 187, Virgin 184 and Freesat 140.
