Singer Josh Groban is taking to the skies in a bid to earn his pilot's licence.
The You Raise Me Up hitmaker is the latest celebrity to take up flying, as he's been logging hours in the air to become an official pilot.
During an interview with U.S. talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Groban revealed his new venture, and even received the help of a high-profile airline.
He explained, "It's a lot of hours in the sky for the privilege of getting to do that. It's something that I'm really passionate about. It's something that I've kinda started getting into a few years ago. I kind of got the bug.
"I was touring in Atlanta, Georgia and I was with some of my friends from Delta (Airlines) and they let me fly in their simulators - their 747, $25 million hydraulic simulator."
The singer is currently in the midst of his U.S. tour, but has managed to log a few hours in the air, but still has about 20 more flights to go. Once he earns the licence, he hopes he can be in charge of transporting himself from city to city for his gigs.
He said, "It's an incredible way to see the world. My dream would be to fly my own plane one day to my own concert. Just land next to the audience, kind of like Led Zepplin would come in on an inflatable banana."
