Actor Josh Lucas was rushed to hospital and required 16 stitches in his eye while filming new film POSEIDON, after co-star Kurt Russell whacked him in the face with a flashlight. The stars were filming a dangerous underwater rescue scene, when the action became a little too real. Lucas recalls, "Kurt and I were swimming underwater and flailing around trying to save someone. "You can't see underwater once you take the mask off - there is a lot of debris and it's dark and intense. "He had a metal flashlight and he just swung it back and popped me in the eye and split it open. I ended up hospitalised because of Kurt Russell." Although Lucas was distraught that filming had to be delayed for nearly a week, his cast members were thrilled by their unexpected holiday. He adds, "Everyone was very happy about it because they all had four or five days off."
