Rock bands Journey and Whitesnake are teaming up for a joint tour of the U.K.

The two groups will perform a series of concerts across Britain next year (13), kicking off in Glasgow, Scotland on 18 May (13) and concluding in London on 29 May (13).

Journey star Neal Schon insists he is excited about launching the co-headlining tour in the U.K.: "Looking forward to getting back to the U.K. and playing our best for you all. You guys are the very best, cheers and see you soon. We will be rocking!"

Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale adds, "We all wanted the last tour to continue as we got closer to the end... After a year in the studio we're ready to rock on stage again... We're coming back for more..."

The tour will also include stops in Newcastle, England and Cardiff in Wales.
