British actor Jude Law poked fun at his heart-throb status on Saturday (23OCT04), by singing a song about his good looks.

Law introduced his impromptu performance on American TV show SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE by recalling his first ever opening night at a theatre in Leeds, England.

He remembers, "(As) I was putting on my make up...I looked in the mirror and I thought, 'Good God, I am so good looking!' I mean, look at this face. This face does not belong in a c***py little theatre in Leeds!"

He then began to sing, "I took one look in the mirror / And I could clearly see / That were was one perfect thing in it / And that thing was me...

"I've made GWYNETH (PALTROW) swoon / And Matt Damon cry / Nicole Kidman melt when she gazed in my eye / My looks don't fit the common belief / That Englishmen have big ears and bad teeth."

After his vocal masterpiece, he was surrounded by the show's female castmembers Maya Rudolph, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Rachel Dratch, who branded him "the most beautiful man" they'd ever seen in song.

Ashlee Simpson, who performed on the programme, also stepped out from behind the scenes to swoon over the screen star.
