The movie star's Maria dress, which Andrews wore while performing Do-Re-Mi in the film, and the outfits her singing governess character handmade for the Von Trapp children from draperies, will be among the highlights at the Profiles in History sale on 29 July (13).
A spokesman for the auction house tells Wenn, "Without question, this is the most comprehensive collection of signature costumes from The Sound of Music any institution or collector could ever hope too obtain.
"Included with the costumes is a four-page typewritten story of the Von Trapp family signed by Maria Von Trapp, explaining the origins of the singing family and events leading to their eventual escape from Third Reich-controlled Austria."
The clothing collection is estimated to fetch up to $1.2 million (£774,000).
