Justin Bieber is urging his fans to adopt abandoned pets from shelters in a new campaign for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
The Baby hitmaker has joined forces with the organisation to encourage more potential pet-owners to help find good homes for stray animals.
Bieber poses with his own dog, Sam, in the promotional picture, which is accompanied by the tag: 'My world includes compassion for animals. Yours should too', in a reference to his hit album My World 2.0.
He says, "We moved to a city where we didn't really know anybody, so I kinda wanted a friend around. And Sam was kinda like that friend.
"My Dad and I used to go and hang out... just go and visit the different animals and stuff. It's really important that people adopt. I really encourage going out to an animal shelter or a place where you can get a dog that has been abandoned or doesn't have a home."
