Justin Bieber's new video for single 'Boyfriend' will see him ''growing into manhood'', says the film's director.
Justin Bieber's new video will see him ''growing into manhood''.
The 18-year-old singer will premiere the promotional film that accompanies new single 'Boyfriend' today (03.05.12) and director Director X has promised the footage will show how the teenage star is growing up.
He said: ''He's 18 now. He can Drive A car. You grow into manhood. He's growing into his manhood so this is something where we really feel like we're seeing him grow. It's not the same old Justin.''
The video was shot in Los Angeles in March and sees Justin - who is dating Selena Gomez - indulge in sunny rooftop parties and getting close to a brunette woman and the director says the love interest's casting echoed the singer's real-life taste in women.
He added to MTV News: ''You know you're casting a beautiful girl. It's the way the chips fell.
''You know, I guess Justin has a type that he likes, so hey, you know, there you go.''
Justin admitted earlier this week he can't wait for his fans to see the video.
He tweeted on Tuesday (01.05.12): ''excited for everyone to see the #BOYFRIENDvideo in 2 days. premiering on @MTV thursday night. swaggy (sic)''
