Justin Bieber honoured his promise to perform for Norwegian fans in Oslo on Wednesday (30May12), despite police concerns about crowd control.
The pop superstar had to plead for calm after police chiefs threatened to declare a state of emergency and shut down his plans to stage a surprise concert in the city.
He announced the first of many surprise shows via Twitter.com on Wednesday afternoon, and devotees flocked to Oslo's Opera House for the performance, overwhelming local police officials who struggled to keep the fans under control.
It appears Bieber's crowd control efforts worked - because the short free gig went ahead.
Bieber performed his smash-hit Baby and four new songs, according to reports.
The pop star takes the chaos to Paris, France for another as-yet unannounced surprise gig on Thursday (31May12).
In a tweet to fans, he writes, "That was fun. #Norway!! Paris tomorrow #AtItagain!"
