Pop superstar Justin Timberlake sent fans in America on a special treasure hunt on Friday (29Mar13) to thank them for sending his new album to the top of the U.S. charts.
The Suit & Tie hitmaker scored his best solo sales week ever on Wednesday (27Mar13) after The 20/20 Experience shot to number one on the Billboard 200 with an impressive 968,000 in first-week sales, and he decided to treat devotees by hiding a handful of autographed records around the U.S.
Announcing the competition on Twitter.com, he wrote, "It's friday and I ain't got s**t to do! Sooo I placed 5 signed vinyls around the country! staytuned finderskeepers (sic)".
He then uploaded a trio of photo clues on Instagram.com alongside the caption, "Come find it Nyc!" - and followed it up with similar hints about prizes in cities including Chicago, Illinois and his native Memphis, Tennessee.
Timberlake also tweeted pictures of each winner as the vinyl records were found.
