Kanye West is reportedly keen to build a full-size replica of the mansion from 'Downton Abbey' for himself and Kim Kardashian because he is a huge fan of the show.
Kanye West wants to build his own full-size replica of the 'Downton Abbey' mansion.
The 36-year-old rapper is a huge fan of the British period drama and reportedly decided instead of moving to the UK with Kim Kardashian, he wants to invest in creating their own version of the show's title home in Los Angeles.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, a source said: ''Both Kanye and Kim love the UK. They think it is so quaint and beautiful. Kanye is fascinated by European history, the aristocracy and the British royals.
''He loves watching 'Downton' Abbey' on television and it's exactly the kind of place he would like to live in.
''They discussed moving to the UK, but in the end they agreed on bringing a bit of Britain to Los Angeles.''
It is said Kanye wants a ''statement home'' to eventually pass down to his five-month-old daughter North, and he has apparently already invested money into researching the idea - although it would be given a modern twist.
The insider added: ''He wants a statement home that will be passed down from generation to generation, in the way they used to be in the Britain of the 'Downton' era.''
They added: ''Of course there will be a movie theatre, bowling alley and basketball court.
''It's going to be the family's palace so no expense will be spared on the decor. They intend it to be the most spectacular house ever built.''
