Kanye West has emerged victorious in a court battle over his hit track Stronger after a judge threw out a lawsuit.
Songwriter/producer Vincent 'Vince P.' Peters filed suit against West last year (10), alleging the rapper copied chunks from his own composition, also named Stronger, which he alleges was written in 2006.
Peters claims he gave music manager John Monopoly, one of West's business associates, a copy of the song during a meeting in 2006, and was stunned when the star's Grammy-winning version appeared the following year (07).
But a judge at a court in Illinois has now ruled in West's favour and dismissed Peters' claim. Judge Virginia Kendall decided the two songs are not substantially similar and threw out the case, according to Allhiphop.com.
The news comes just days after West settled a long running legal dispute with music mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight, stemming from a 2005 shooting at a Florida party.
