New Zealand actor Karl Urban has replaced Michael C. Hall in the upcoming live-action reboot of Pete's Dragon.
The former Dexter actor was cast in the film earlier this month (Jan15), but has since dropped out, according to TheWrap.com.
Star Trek star Urban joins Robert Redford, Bryce Dallas Howard and Wes Bentley, who have already signed up for the project, and Boardwalk Empire actor Oakes Fegley, who will play the title character.
While the original 1977 live action/animated musical was set in a fishing village at the turn of the 20th century, the reboot will be set in a town where loggers are cutting down a nearby forest, and the orphaned boy raised there by a dragon.
