Kate Hudson and her boyfriend Matthew Bellamy have opted for an unusual baby-name for their new born son, naming the boy 'Bingham'. Hudson and the Muse rocker welcomed the baby on Saturday (9th July 2011) but have only just released details of the new arrival.
Speaking on his Twitter page, Bellamy told followers, "So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy". The British musician added that the baby weighed 7 pounds, 12 ounces at birth, noting, "Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!" It is the couple's first child together, but the Hollywood actress has another son 'Ryder' with her ex-husband Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes. 'Bingham' is regarded as a relatively obscure name, particularly in the U.S. The news comes just days after Victoria Beckham and husband David welcomed their first daughter, 'Harper Seven'. Speculation has been rife regarding the meaning of the name, but the celebrity couple are yet to shed light on the matter.
Kate Hudson, who now splits her time between the UK and U.S, began dating Bellamy in the Spring of 2010. The couple announced their engagement back in April, during an episode of the 'Today Show'.
