Kate Upton admits she struggling to get castings for films because of her curves.

The Sports Illustrated model, who stars in new movie 'The Other Woman' alongside Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann, found it difficult when she first started going for auditions for films because agents weren't sure if her hourglass figure was right for the big screen.

She told the new issue of British VOGUE: ''It's weird that in the press they'll be like, 'Your biggest fight was with the industry and the designers', and I'm like, no, my biggest fight was with my agents, trying to get them to sign me into the castings.

''I thought, how I'm going to come out of this will be an example for girls.''

Kate features on the cover of the latest issue of VOGUE in a vintage-style bikini and dazzles inside the publication in a photo shoot by celebrated photograph Mario Testino.

The 21-year-old blonde star, who has earned comparisons to iconic actress Marilyn Monroe, gushed about her idol, who also started her career as a model before starring in films such as 'Some Like Hot'.

She said: ''I always thought Marilyn was so beautiful and iconic, it was amazing to even be mentioned in the same sentence as her. ''
