Katherine Jackson still wakes up in the middle of the night thinking about her late son Michael, almost three years after his death.
Michael Jackson died of a Propofol overdose on 25 June, 2009 and his mum Katherine has been struggling to overcome the unbearable loss of her son ever since, largely preferring to stay out of the spotlight and grieve in private.
But now the 82-year-old matriarch, who is legal guardian to the Thriller hitmaker's children Prince, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, nine, has opened up about her struggle to come to peace with his passing.
During an appearance on news show Piers Morgan Tonight, which is set to air in America on Monday (14May12), she says, "Every morning, all through the day, I think about Michael. If I wake up through the night, my mind is there. I just miss him. But being a Christian and believing in resurrection, I feel that I'll see him again."
A choked-up Katherine later stopped the interview to collect herself, and when asked whether she'd ever "get over" the tragedy, she replied, "Never."
