Today Show The Internet Version
NBC's Today show plans to produce a one-time-only, live, online special on Tuesday from 7 30 a.m. to 8 30 a.m. to promote a new website address www.Today.com. It will be hosted by fourth-hour Today stars Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb. In a "welcome" article on the show's homepage today (Monday), Jen Brown, director of Today.com, said that all four hours of the show will be highlighted on a banner at the top of the site, accessible in the order that they aired, by popularity, or by the staff's "faves." Most of the website's features, however, appear to be of the standard tabloid variety. Early today the lead article was "Have you experienced a 'midlife crisis' and appeared to be an effort to encourage readers to participate in an on-air feature. ("Tell us your story," the lede says. The top story was "Sheen vows to fight for his boys in court," followed by two other Charlie Sheen articles, the third of which was titled, "How much is too much Charlie Sheen?" Other headlines "Murder trial brings paid to victim's family;" "How far should parents go to monitor kids on the Internet?" and "Photo Features Hollywood's shirtless studs."
