Katie Holmes does not stand to gain much of Tom Cruise's fortune in their divorce, according to Tmz. Yesterday's report on their site (July 3, 2012) suggests that the pre-nuptial agreement that Katie and Tom signed before they married dictates that she will most likely leave the marriage with nothing more than what she brought to it.
A source told the website's reporters that Katie would be perfectly happy with that. "She's not about the money. She's not that girl. She loves to work... Money is not that important to her. She makes plenty on her own." In fact, several reports have suggested that the very reason for Katie deciding to leave her superstar husband is that he was too controlling over her career decisions. Since they married, Katie's career has floundered, whereas her husband's has flourished. Rumour has it that he stopped her from getting involved in a Dawson's Creek reunion and it's also been reported that she has sacked her publicist and returned to the agency with whom she worked prior to meeting Cruise.
Tmz do suggest however, that Katie will most likely be seeking child support from Tom, which may well prove to be the sticking point of their divorce proceedings. It is currently unknown, this early into the divorce process, whether or not Katie is likely to challenge the contents of the prenuptial agreement.
