British model-turned-reality Tv star Katie Price has accepted undisclosed damages from Rupert Murdoch's media empire over the phone-hacking scandal.

Price is one of dozens of stars who have taken legal action after it emerged in 2011 that a private investigator working for U.K. tabloid the News of the World intercepted cell phone voicemail messages on an industrial scale.

Stars including actors Hugh Grant and Jude Law have already received a payout over the furore, and now Price has agreed to settle in return for a damages payment and a public apology, a hearing at London's High Court on Wednesday (09Oct13) was told.

The News of the World was shut down in 2011 in the wake of the scandal.
