John Mayer is ''quite happy'' with Katy Perry.

The musician remained coy when quizzed about his relationship with the 'Part of Me' singer - who he has been dating since June - but confessed he is content with how things are progressing between them.

He said: ''I mean, I'm quite happy. I'm happy in all aspects of my life. I'm very happy in all aspects of my life.''

Asked whether John could see himself settling down with Katy, 28, after a series of flings with the likes of Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift, the notorious womaniser hinted he wants a ''traditional'' lifestyle and hopes to walk down the aisle someday.

He quipped: ''I want to live a very traditional life with a very untraditional day job. You know what I mean?''

The 'Your Body Is A Wonderland' singer also opened up about his brand new outlook on life since undergoing a second throat surgery last September, admitting his health problems have made him completely ''reconstruct'' his values.

He told Rolling Stone magazine: ''I think 35's a great time. You investigate yourself, you know there are things that aren't growing correctly, or serving you as you get older, and you break yourself down in a period of time.

''I'm actually lucky that I didn't have to do that while I was on the road. I had a couple years off, and you deconstruct yourself. It's very painful, and when you reconstruct yourself, you kind of have a fresh outlook on the next 20 years of your life.''
