Katy Perry is aiming for more U.S. pop chart history after announcing plans to release a sixth song from her Teenage Dream album.
The singer currently ties Michael Jackson on the mainstream Billboard Hot 100 chart after landing five number one singles from the same album - and now she wants to go one better.
The One That Got Away will be released next month (Oct11) and Perry hopes it will help her become the only artist in history to score a sixth number one.
California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework; E.T. and Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) have all reached the top of the U.S. chart, making Perry the first woman to land five number ones from one album. Jackson accomplished the same feat in 1987 and 1988 with hits from his Bad album. His sixth and seventh releases failed to make it to the top five.
