Katy Perry 's 3-D Concert movie 'Part of Me' received its European premiere in London earlier in the week. Many of the early reviews of the film have commented on the lack of personal discussion from Perry and the feeling that anything that may relate to her private life (and specifically her relationship with Russell Brand) had been swiftly edited from the final cut. Thanks to an interview with The Sun, though, Perry's fans are able to get an insight into her feelings towards Russell and about their recent marriage break-down.
Whilst many expected Perry's latest material to dwell on the pain of breaking up with British comedian Brand, Perry insists that she's not about to start moping and nor is she going to dwell on heartbreak. "I'd never devote a whole record to heartbreak," she told The Sun. "I'm happy, I'm in a good place, I'm looking forward to my future." The movie doesn't completely overlook the troubles that Katy faced whilst it was being filmed. There is one scene in the move where she can be seen hiding under a blanket and crying. Her manager asks if she is depressed and she answers by nodding. In the interview, she explains "That's towards the end of the tour and I am obviously exhausted and things aren't going well for me personally. I am trying to keep that to myself and it started cracking through. It is a bit of a symbolic moment, rising above that pain on that lift, and sometimes I had to turn it on. I turned on my spinning outfits and my spinning peppermints."
Katy insists that she's not trying to over up her feelings over the divorce, but explains "I am not hiding anything, but I had to put it in with integrity and consideration because that's how I make all my choices, because I believe in karma."
