Katy Perry made two girls' Christmas wishes come true on a recent flight.

The 'Wide Awake' star was going from Chicago to Wisconsin when she was approached by a flight attendant and was only too happy to host the young fans for the remainder of the trip.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: ''The girls couldn't believe Katy Perry was sitting at the other end of the aeroplane.

''They didn't make a huge fuss or run over to her even though they said they were massive fans. The flight attendant quietly approached Katy asking for an autograph.

''Not only did Katy oblige, she invited the young fans and their mum to sit with her for the rest of the flight.

''She chatted to the girls and played the card game Uno with them. The girls were understandably giddy with excitement afterwards.''

After they had touched down the 28-year-old star is said to have posed for photographs outside the aircraft and gave both fans tickets to one of her concerts in 2013.

Meanwhile, the singer's boyfriend, John Mayer, reportedly gave her an especially designed guitar as a Christmas present.

The 35-year-old musician - previously known for his womanising ways -has had the instrument covered in intricate designs, including Katy's initials and the date they first met.

A source said: ''John has put some serious effort into his Christmas gift for Katy. Since they met he has been trying to prove he isn't the guy everyone says he is.

''This should definitely prove that - every little detail on the guitar shows how much he thinks of her.''
