Katy Perry is set to work with Weezer on her second album.

The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer will team up with the 'Buddy Holly' rockers to collaborate on new material for her upcoming LP.

The group's lead singer Rivers Cuomo said: "We're writing together next week. Can't wait."

Katy - whose debut album 'One of the Boys' was a worldwide smash - recently admitted she wanted her next album to have a more mature sound.

She said: "I'm not trying to alienate my fans necessarily but 'One of the Boys' was written from 17 to 23 and now I'm 24 so my perspective on life has changed."

The news Katy and Weezer are working together follows the revelation Lil Wayne is due to appear on the band's new album 'Raditude' after he was invited into the studio for their recording sessions.

Weezer are due to release 'Raditude' on October 26.
