Katy Perry relived her school days as the host of the Teen Choice Awards - the pop star went from gawky geek to prom queen as she hit the stage in an array of teen-inspired costumes.
The quirky singer was in charge of presenting the ceremony on Sunday (08Aug10) with the male stars of TV hit Glee and she used the opportunity to revisit her teenage years.
Perry appeared in a long hippie dress with Kevin MCHale, donned glasses and braces with Mark Salling, was crowned prom queen with her prom king Chris Colfer, and even did the splits as a cheerleader alongside Cory Monteith.
She joked to the crowd, "Tonight is my chance to go back to high school - although this time people actually like me."
The night proved to be a success for vampire franchises - The Vampire Diaries garnered seven surfboard-shaped trophies, while the Twilight Saga received 12, including Choice Fantasy Movie and Villain, and three prizes for lead actor Robert Pattinson.
The British hunk scooped a fourth win outside of the blood-sucking saga - he was named Choice Drama Movie Actor for Remember Me.
He told fans: "It's great to win something outside of Twilight!"
Country star Taylor Swift was also a big winner - she was named the Choice Female Country Artist and Breakout Movie Actress for Valentine's Day, and also won Choice Country Song for Fifteen and Country Album for Fearless. She was a no-show for the prizegiving but appeared in a taped segment in which she took her surfboard trophy into a lake.
The awards, decided by over 85 million online votes, aired in the U.S. on Monday (09Aug10).
