Pop star Katy Perry is tiring of reports her parents are devout Christians who disapprove of her pop career - because they're a lot more "rock 'n' roll" than people give them credit for.
The I Kissed A Girl singer's folks have been portrayed in the media as zealots who refused to let their daughter watch TV or listen to pop music - but she insists they're not quite the God-fearing couple everyone seems to think they are.
She says, "They had their wild-child heyday, and they definitely needed to find God and I think they're a lot more rock 'n' roll than people give them credit for.
"My dad has four tattoos, but they all say, 'Jesus,' just in case you forget the first one does. One says 'Jesus' in Hebrew, one says 'Jesus' in calligraphy, one is like a stamp... They're very cool.
"Of course they (parents) don't agree with some things that come out of my mouth, but that's been the case since I learned how to talk."
